In an exciting partnership, Lab4U and SQM Litio have joined forces to revolutionize science education in Northern Chile. This collaboration, focused on a school in Toconao (Complejo Educacional Toconao), aims to ignite interest in STEM disciplines and expand local students’ career opportunities from 7th grade all through high school as part of the STEM Education Program in Toconao.
With Lab4U‘s technology, smartphones become learning tools to make education more dynamic and accessible through various experiences, such as classroom experiments, reinforcing content, and developing scientific research skills by answering quizzes, among other activities.
The STEM Education Program in Toconao also provides access to experiments based on lithium industry production processes, connecting students with their local environment and industry. It fosters their interest in STEM subjects, enabling them to pursue careers in these fields in the future and improve their job prospects, while also encouraging the retention of talent in the region.
Through the STEM Education Program in Toconao, Lab4U and SQM Litio are laying the foundation for a future where the youth of Toconao not only discover their potential in science but also broaden their life opportunities by pursuing careers in areas that, according to UN projections, will be linked to STEM disciplines in 7 out of 10 jobs by 2050.
